Full of interesting DATA! [This 2011 NATURE CONSERVANCY
report reads like dry hay — I let the computer speak outloud
this kind of stuff for me, while blowing off steam k after k
on my Office bike machine — BUT: It is full of interesting,
detailed observations. This is priceless, in my view. While
the overwhelming dominant 99% obsessively count rancher-cows
& hunter-elk, here we look at smaller shrubs & trees, like
ASPEN, HAWS & SERVICEBERRY, that we tend to overlook.
For European friends, the ZUMWALT PRAIRIE is a largely
intact paradise native grassland high-plateau JEWEL.
For botanizing. For birding. For Biking. For meditation.
Or just for the utterly magical light, much like the great
Rocky Mountain Front if eastern Montana. I never can
figure out why this is not enough, why we don’t stop
fighting about wolves, dams & bears, and just kneel
down and pray to the great spirit around us.]
